Who will be the Next United States President? The next United States Presidential Election will take place on Tuesday 5th November 2024. President Joe Biden is running for re-election while his predecessor Donald Trump is seeking re-election for a second term. If both are selected by their parties, it would be the first Presidential re-match since 1956.

Between them, the bookies have priced up hundreds of candidates but we'll concentrate on the top seven:-

• Gavin Newsom
• Kamala Harris
• Nikki Haley

Sportsbook Best Odds - Joe Biden is now the favourite to become the Next United States President as his odds have shortened quite dramatically from 5/2 in February to now just 11/10 at Star Sports and others (A £10 stake returns £21). Donald Trump was the Evens favourite in February but has now drifted out to 5/4, again Star Sports offering the best odds (A £10 stake returns £22.50).

Michelle Obama is third in the betting and Star Sports are offering her best odds of 22/1. Robert Kennedy Jr. is an interesting candidate who has chosen to run as an Independent and is a best priced 25/1 with BetUK (previously 30/1 in February).

Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom are both a best priced 40/1 at Betfred. Nikki Haley has drifted way out to 90/1 at BetUK (previously 30/1 in February).

Exchange Best Odds - Interestingly, the Betting Exchanges still have Donald Trump as their favourite with Smarkets currently offering odds of 2.3 (A £10 stake returns a profit of £13 and after 2% commission returns £22.74) so slightly better than the 5/4 on offer at Star Sports.

Joe Biden is still available at 2.36 at Betfair Exchange (A £10 stake returns a profit of £13.60 and after 2% commission returns £23.33) which is much better than the 11/10 on offer at the sportsbooks.

Michelle Obama is a best priced 32.0 at Betfair Exchange but Robert Kennedy Jr. is the Betting Exchanges third favourite with odds of 29.0 on offer at Smarkets. Kamala Harris and Gavin Newsom are both a best priced 75.0 at Betfair Exchange and Smarkets respectively. Nikki Haley's best odd of 95.0 are available at Betfair Exchange.

BettingOnPolitics.co.uk Prediction - I find it fascinating that the Sportsbooks and the Exchanges throw up different favourites and its testament to Joe Biden's recovery that what looked a bit of a foregone conclusion a couple of months ago, now looks like a very tight betting market. Donald Trump's campaign continues to be marred by ongoing Court cases and the forthcoming hush-money trial is likely to bring him embarrassment but will it cost him votes? Although his odds are drifting, I think he'll still come through and become the Next President of the United States and this hush-money trial may see his odds drift further before shortening dramatically as we near the all important day of reckoning on the 5th November.
